I’m sure most of you have heard of Ipsy – it’s a surprise bag for $10/month (no shipping costs in the US!) that includes 4-5 deluxe samples and/or full sized products to test all packaged in an adorable makeup bag.

You can also add-on additional products on the 2nd of each month ONLY – full sized products are $12 each (some of these cost over $60 regular retail!) and $3 for deluxe sample sized products. You can also earn points to purchase additional products as well. You earn points by reviewing the products and sharing via social media.

I ordered my first Ipsy bag in February 2019, and this is my review:

February 2019 Glam Bag

I always get a little excited when I see the hot-pink package stuffed in my mailbox, waiting for me to unwrap after a long day at work. I know it’s not much, but it’s exciting to get a little something each month for me to try out.

February sent an adorable puckered-lip-kiss makeup bag that felt like it was made of plastic or vinyl – something easily wipe-able if I get it dirty.

Marc Anthony – Strengthening Grow Long Anti-Breakage Mask

So I tried this, of course, and loved it. I think I’ve seen some of these products in my local Walgreens and CVS – I like that it’s accessible. I added a link above to Amazon as well. It made my hair silky and I enjoyed the feel of it after I blow dried my hair – it made my hair soft and less frizzy. It has a pleasant smell that isn’t overpowering – it’s just nice all around!

MAC – Strobe Cream

Now, I’m new to makeup and highlighting/contouring really isn’t my thing. I had to read the directions that come with the ipsy bag to figure out how to use it. I swipe it on my cheekbones before or after placing my foundation (I really don’t notice a difference one way or another). I also dab a little on the tip of my nose and above my brows. It leaves a light glow and is lightweight (even though it comes in cream-form, it isn’t heavy like a lotion). I don’t have any complaints, but won’t be purchasing the full sized product for myself. I linked it to Amazon above.

5/10 simply because I won’t use it.

The Balm – Alternative Rock – “Take It For Granite”

I enjoy testing out new eye-shadows, and this one did not disappoint. It’s a super light color but is very buildable. I spread one layer evenly over the entire lid and then add additional layers in the V of my eye for darker contrast. Pop on some mascara and it’s an easy daily eye-shadow!

Luxie – Blending Eye Shadow Brush

Of course, I used this brush with my new eye-shadow (listed above). I’m not sure how to rate brushes? It was nice – it put the eye shadow on my eye. The end.

Laritzy – Lip Gloss CURVE

And last but not least, I received a full-sized lip gloss! I was excited to see a full sized item instead of just sample sizes. I use this lip gloss whenever I wear makeup (which isn’t often, but it’s become my go-to lip color when I do). It’s lighter than it looks – it goes on a pretty shade of pink that doesn’t look foreign against my pale skin. It is very sticky and my hair does get stuck from time to time, that would be my only downfall but that’s more user error than product error. 🙂

Do you receive monthly product subscriptions as well? If so, what do you use?
