Now, I’m not a chef by any means – but this is a recipe that even I can’t mess up! To top it off, it’s absolutely delicious and usually gone within 10 minutes in my house!
If you’ve ever ordered Chinese takeout and gotten those crunchy, golden, crab and cream cheese wontons then you know how yummy they are. I’m not a huge fan of imitation crab meat so I skip that part and just make them as cream cheese wontons.
Here’s the recipe:
1 Cup Powdered Sugar
1 Block Regular Cream Cheese
1 Package of Wonton Wrappers (I find mine in the salad section at Walmart)
Warm the cream cheese with your hands, leave it out, or microwave it for 15 seconds. You’re going to want the cream cheese to be pliable.
Mix the cream cheese and powdered sugar well – make sure there are no lumps.
Add a spoonful of cream cheese mixture to center of wonton square
Use water or egg wash to seal the edges of the wonton – I make mine into triangles to keep it simple.
Fry in canola oil (this gives them a crispier shell in my opinion) until golden brown and transfer to plate with paper towel on it, to dry any excess oil.
We like to dip them in Sweet Chili Sauce and devour!
